"Ring of Fire" is a country piece popularized by Johnny Cash and co-written by June Carter Cash and Merle Kilgore. The single comes up on Cash's 1963 album, Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash. The song was actually recorded by June's sister, Anita Carter, on her Mercury Records album Folk Songs Old and New (1963) as "(Love's) Ring of Fire".
The tune was covered by Frank Zappa through his 1988 tour One performance recorded in Wurzburg, Germany, appears on the 1991 release The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life.
The first disc features a hilarious reggae version of "Ring of Fire," which was apparently going to be sung by Johnny Cash himself until his wife got sick and he had to back out.
