Musikbyran:Documentary On Sweden TV


SVT2, until 1996 TV2, is one of two television programs broadcast by Sveriges Tv in Sweden. It was began by Sveriges Radio in 1969. SVT2 is mostly additional specialized, when compared with SVT1.

Discussion persisted throughout the 1960s of starting an alternate Swedish television station was discussed. Some desired the new channel to be commercial and funded by advertising and marketing, however it became clear that Sveriges Radio would manage the second station and that it would be funded by the license charge as well. TV2 started broadcasting on 5 December 1969, an event generally known as the "channel split" (kanalklyvningen). On November 26, 2003 TV2 broadcast this Frank Zappa video documentary titled Musikbyran:
