Austrian released TV documentary |
Frank Zappa: New York & Elsewhere is an Austrian released TV documentary directed in 1980 by Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher, aka DoRo productions, who are most popular for their work with Queen.
Documentary includes interviews with Zappa intercut with performances at New York’s Mudd Club and at Upper Darby’s Tower Theater, in Pennsylvania, from May 1980.
The Mudd Club was a Tribeca nightclub opened in October 1978 by Steve Mass, art curator Diego Cortez and downtown punk scene figure Anya Phillips. The club was named after Samuel Alexander Mudd, a doctor who cared for John Wilkes Booth in the aftermath of Abraham Lincoln's assassination. It closed in 1983.
